Sixty years of marriage and about the same amount of time on their farm and it is time for change. My grandparents have decided to move from their home on the farm to a place in town. They are getting older and are no longer able to keep the farm up. I heard the news a couple of weeks ago. It hits me hard because this was the only place in the world that was a constant in my life. Growing up I didn't stay in any one place long enough to grow roots. My roots were buried hundreds of miles from where I grew up in a place I'd never lived. It seems that now I have to face the mortality of my loved ones once again.

After twelve years together with minimal problems from my view point my parents have decided to seperate. Another shock to my system and my faith in forever was shaken. We talked about the whys and hows of the split and to me it just seems sad. They still care for each other, they just need space to grow in the directions they both want and need. They can't do that together because they are in each others way. And by staying together they will stay in the ruts they have created. Still it is sad and upsetting.

So in the past two weeks I have had two heavy blows to the belief of forever. But I realized that if I never give forever a chance I can never have it. And right now forever is what I want with kat. He has been everything and more than I could ask for. I love him with all that I am.
